Happy 2010

January 4, 2010 - Leave a Response

Happy 2010 everyone!

I’m sorry it’s been so long since I’ve posted anything. I have lots to catch up on.
In 2009 I met some AMAZING people, and I have to name a few here!
1) My July Brides, Jenny, Kara, Eliza and June… you all were fantastic and wonderful and I so appreciate the time you gave to me!

2) In August, there was the lovely Sue and also, Erin, my 1st bride with Alopecia. She was such a good sport and understood that I had never worked with anyone without any eye lashes or eyebrows before. I got to draw on her brows and apply her lashes. It was such a great experience! Her photographer was also wonderful. He’s based out of Pennsylvania and is working on a book called “Brides Across America” check it out here… http://www.bridesacrossamerica.us/ and http://www.our-wedding-photographer.com/index2.php.

The fall was such a whirlwind. A lot of brides who came to me for a trial got the pleasure of meeting my father who was confined to a wheelchair after having a stroke in 2004. His health took a turn in October and he passed away on 10/31/09. It was a difficult time and I will miss him like none other.

But now life goes on, my fiance and I will be looking to purchase our home together sometime this year and I hope to then have a new studio there. For now, I’m doing trials in my little apartment in Auburndale, MA or in Maine at Dan’s home in Scarborough, ME.
I’m looking forward to 2010, meeting new people, making more brides and bridal parties glow, and I’m looking forward to my own wedding in October.

Have a great year everyone! My best to all of you!

The June that nearly got washed away

August 28, 2009 - Leave a Response

Here are some stories of some of my June brides! Believe it or not, there were a few days in June when we didn’t see Rain! :)

Early June, there was the beautiful Tracy who had her wedding outdoors in Middleboro; the sun peaked out from behind the clouds just in time for her to walk down the aisle during her outdoor ceremony! It was a fun day at Tracy’s brother John’s house getting ready, with all the dogs, cats and horses. Thanks to Tracy, John and his gorgeous wife Kim for everything that day! Photo’s were taken by The Henry Studio, I hope to have some to show soon.

Then there was the stunning Daria who had her destination wedding at the Peabody Essex Museum, it was a gorgeous day and she, her family and friends were all such wonderful people. This was a very large wedding party and limited timing, my niece Adrianne helped me keep up. It was a gorgeous day and I hope Daria and her friends and family had a great time and was very happy and I hope the pictures all came out great!

Next, there was the lovely Liz, who all got ready in Waltham, 4 set of lashes were applied this day! Everyone looked dashing! Adrianne helped me out again today with the large wedding party. Liz is an amazing woman and her family was wonderful! Photo’s were taken by Antonio Pulsone Photographer http://www.antoniopulsone.com/ and I’ll have some up on my site soon!

July and August were a little slower, but the experiences were fantastic!
Stay Tuned!

Wow! Can you believe it’s already the end of August and this is the 1st time I’ve had a chance to sit down and gather my thoughts from a very busy summer! I’m sorry for the lack of posting. I hope to have updates to my site done real soon with some new photos! I will be posting a new blog entry soon too! Stay tuned!

It has been such a pleasure to meet a number of tremendously kind people this year. I did weddings all over greater New England, from MA to NH to ME. It’s been fun!

An Awesome April!

May 22, 2009 - One Response

I’m so amazed at how fast April came and went… from a late March wedding with Lauren, then getting engaged on the 4th, then 3 weddings to follow with Becky, Danielle & Megan were all so wonderfully amazing. I can’t wait to put there photo’s on my website! I have lots to look forward to in June.

I have to share this site of one of my brides, Megan. http://www.agirlmustshop.com/

She’s an amazing person and her wedding was so much fun! She even invited Dan and me to go to the reception! If Dan had arrived sooner that day we could have made it! Thanks so much Megan!
Megan gave me some amazing idea’s for my wedding and I do believe she’s going to be hired to do some of my bridal party gifts and even my invitations! So if you are stuck on the infamous “what do I give as a gift” or “where do I get that?” Megan is your girl!

Your Wedding and the Economy

May 2, 2009 - Leave a Response

We all know by now that this country is in a recession. We all need to do our part to bring it back up. Do the best you can to stay positive and try not to let it get you down. This is a set back for sure, but try your hardest to stand tall and think positive thoughts.

With regards to your wedding during this recession, don’t cut back on things like hair, makeup & photography. These are parts of your lasting images of the day. Look as beautiful as you possibly can. You certainly don’t want your lifetime of photographs to look like the recession was going on now do you? Keep in mind that many years from now, when this recession is said and gone, you don’t want to have any regrets on your decisions of the day.

I’d like to refer a hair stylist I know well, Maureen Regan, www.onsitehair.com or onsitehair@aol.com. She will go onsite to your location and make all the bridal parties hair look stunning.

I’d also like to refer a fantastic photographer, Kim Calakoutis, www.k-c-photo.com, www.kcphotobrideguide.com or klynnphoto@mac.com. Kim is a fabulous photographer. So fabulous that I actually planned my wedding date around her schedule. How’s that for a referral? Check out her website, her work speaks for itself.

Thanks for looking! Happy spring!

The Makeup Artist, is getting married!

April 9, 2009 - 2 Responses

What a surprise I got on 04/04/09, my then boyfriend, now fiance, bent down to show me a book and said, he found the greatest story of all, removed the book and there was a box… he said the best story of all time was me, he opened the box, and there it was, a gorgeous ring. I froze in my place for a good few moments and don’t even remember saying yes, but I’m glad I did.

Now I get to see what all of you are going through from your perspective! I’m looking forward to using some vendors I’ve worked with during my years of makeup artistry whose work I’ve witnessed during the prepping and photo’s from the weddings.

I can’t wait! It’s going to be fun!!!

Happy 2009!!!
